British Army and IRA agree Truce
With the cost of the War of Independence increasing and pressure from international statesmen and the British public, the British government were under pressure to come to an agreement with Sinn Féin.
The truce brought the War of Independence to an end. Once the truce was agreed negotiations began on a permanent solution between the British government and Sinn Féin.
