Provisional Government adopts Peace Policy

With the outbreak of civil war in Southern Ireland, Michael Collins, chairman of the provisional government, met with the northern leaders of the pro-treaty Irish Republican Army. They agreed to end their violent campaign in the North and instead use methods of passive resistance against the Northern Ireland government.
